Fargo Soccer Club (FSC) players may guest play on teams outside the club by permission of the President, Matt Noah,  .  The process involves receiving the proper paperwork and an understanding of what the opportunity involves so that expectations are fulfilled.  Likewise, guest players from other clubs are welcome on FSC teams when we need to supplement a roster.  Again, guest players from other clubs need to contact Matt Noah.  Guest players can also be those players within the club that wish to play on another team within the club.  This too involves contacting Matt Noah for the necessary permission and paperwork.

FSC players have been guest players for various teams.  Most of the time this has been a positive experience.  Listed below is a brief summary of various experiences along with our recommendations and prohibitions.

Recommendations

The St. Croix Soccer Club of St. Croix, MN is an exceptional club.  One of our U15 girls played with their club in the 2012 US Club Soccer Regional in Chicago.  She was afforded plenty of playing time, had an excellent coach and played with a team that won the regional tournament and advanced to the national tournament.  This was an exceptional experience.  We worked with the Director of Coaching Nathan Klonecki and Coach Joaquin Izquierdo.  Coach Izquierdo was an excellent role model as well as being an excellent coach.  The team manager was also excellent.

The Dakota Rev Soccer Club of Apple Valley, MN provided a guest playing opportunity for a U10 and a U11 boy in 2012.  The boys were afforded plenty of playing time and had an excellent coach and played on a team that made it to the championship of a tournament.  This was a very good experience.  We worked with Coach Westley Dayus.  Coach Dayus was an excellent role model and well as being an excellent coach.  The team manager was also excellent.

The Coon Rapids Soccer Club of Coon Rapids, MN provided a guest playing opportunity for a U13 girl in 2016.  She was treated well.  They were great to work with.  We provided a guest playing opportunity to one of their players who had such a great time that they want to permanently guest play with our club.

The Minneapolis United Soccer Club provided guest players to our U17 boys team in 2015.  It was a great experience all-around.

The Tonka United Soccer Club of Minnetonka, MN has provided guest players to our club and we have had guest players play for them.  In addition, they have a wonderful early June tournament we attend.

The CC United Soccer Club of Chanhassen/Chaska, MN has provided guest players to our club and we have had guest players play for them.

The Chicago Edge Soccer Club provided guest players to the Fargo Soccer Club in Summer 2015 and again in Summer 2016.  They were great to work with.

The Topeka Select Soccer Club of Topeka, KS is not an exceptional club.  One of our U11 boys played with their club in 2012.  He was not treated well.  He was not afforded anywhere near a fair amount of playing time despite having paid to play and being one of the top, if not the top player on the team.  His coach used profanity and refused to change his behavior when confronted with the problem.  As he stated, 'profanity motivates'.  The club president supported the coach and was present for the games and a meeting with the coach regarding the player and the coach's behavior.  The coach essentially only used his two guest players in order to rest his favored starters.  In the end, the team lost out and the starters were exhausted.  Before that, our guest player's family removed their son from the team.  At no point is the use of profanity or this treatment acceptable on any youth sports team.  The coach was Nic Simons.  The president was Jerry Stamm.

The TC Storm Soccer Club of Moorhead, MN is not an exceptional club.  The list of reasons we will not allow guest players with this club is long.

The West Fargo Soccer Club of West Fargo, ND is not an exceptional club.  The list of reasons we will not allow guest players with this club is short but important.

The FM United Soccer Club of Fargo, ND is not an exceptional club.  The list of reasons we will not allow guest players with this club is long.
